Growing A Garden On Concrete

Growing A Garden On Concrete

If you were given the task of starting a garden with which you had to feed your family from and had to choose between growing crops on concrete or on cultivated soil, which would you choose?  Actually this is a no brainer.  You are always going to choose the soil.  Obviously seeds don’t grow on concrete.  The terrain in this case is not suitable for crops to grow.  Seeds have specific requirements in order to thrive.  They need the right amount of sunlight, water and soil in order to grow. What does this have to do with you and your health?  More than you may realize.

Louis Pasteur, one of the greatest scientists of his time, was quoted saying “It’s the terrain, not the germ that causes the disease.”  This short but profound statement provides one of the keys to healthy living.  You see germs in a sense are no different than the seeds in our story above.  Germs can’t grow unless they are in the right environment.  Harmful germs or bacteria can’t thrive in a healthy body.

Look at it this way, your body has an inborn resistance.  If that resistance lowers your body becomes more susceptible to getting sick.  As long as your resistance stays at a high level your body will be better equipped to fight off any invaders.  So the idea is not to be so concerned with germs from the outside as much as you should be concerned with strengthening your internal environment.

Chiropractic has always been about strengthening your body’s internal environment through proper nerve function.  Your nerves control every function of your body including your immune system.  One study has found chiropractic adjustments to boost the immune system by a whopping 200%!!  With a 200% immune system boost, germs have as much chance of causing sickness as seeds do growing on concrete.

Remember, the purpose of chiropractic has been and always will be, to allow you to live your life at your fullest potential, by allowing your nerves to relay messages from your brain into your body.  So the next time you are getting adjusted realize one of the great benefits of having a healthy nerve system is a stronger immune system!

Be sure to share this information with anyone who could benefit from having a stronger immune system, we’re always grateful for your referrals!
